I've been feeling nostalgic lately, so I decided to do the high school meme.

The School and Year you graduated?
- Thomas Stone High School, Class of 2001

Number of people in your graduating class:
- 334-ish

Nickname in high school?
- HeyThere, Fire Queen, Green Bean

Sport you were into?
- I did marching band. It's a sport. Don't try to argue with me.

Had a circle of friends?
- My band friends were my family. There may have been in-fighting, but we stuck together against everyone else.

Best subject?
- I always got A's in all my band classes, even the ones I was terrible in like piano. But I loved my 11th grade AP English class.

Favorite class?
- Hmm. Probably symphonic band. Not so much freshmen year, but junior and senior year. I was much better by then and sat next to my favorite people.

Worst subject?
- Calculus. Or Trig with Ms. Toe-Cheese. Or Euro history with Mr. Shaffer, I think one quarter I skipped more than I actually went...

A teacher you owe life lessons to?
- Mr. Van Dyke. I can't even begin to describe the impact he has had on my life. Whenever I go back to visit, he still hugs me and sits me down for a talk. He's probably one of the few people I've ever cried in front of. The knowledge, wisdom, and S.A.T. words that that man imparted to me will probably stay with me forever.

Describe in one word...
Freshman (year 9): Eager.
Sophomore (year 10): Passive.
Junior (year 11): Lonely.
Senior (year 12): Secure.

Your best friend was?
- My Meggie Bean. And there was my Bonnie-O, my Stewbert, my cute little Duh, and Janet, too.

Worst friend?
- I had a friend that I used to really like and then she did something horrible to my other friend and I don't hate her anymore, but I still don't think I've forgiven her. /run-on sentence

Cafeteria food sucked?
- Mostly. I didn't eat much other than fries from the cafeteria, and by the end of ninth grade, I stopped going there altogether, and ate lunch in the bandroom.

Wore uniforms?
- Lots of different band uniforms, but not mandatory school uniforms.

How was the prom?
- Beats me, I didn't go. I went to one high school dance, and that was Homecoming in 10th grade. That was enough for me. I didn't like most of the people in my school, and I saw no reason to sit stuffed up in a small room with all of them listening to terrible music. We tried to put together a kind of anti-prom of our own, but everyone bailed on us in the end, and went to the regular prom instead. We went to Baltimore and got lost for most of the night. :)

Who were the prom king and queen?
- Some people I didn't like, I'm sure.

Any achievements?
- Ehh, the usual overachiever stuff. I was in NHS, got medals for Solo/Ensemble, made all-county and tri-county band a few times, top ten percent of my class, and I got the John Philip Sousa award for band.

Were you popular?
- It depends. I did pretty well with my own band nerds, but outside the band room, I was kind of a nobody. I wasn't a "loser" (well, maybe I was, president of the band, here :P), but I wasn't really popular. I couldn't tell you now who the popular kids even were. I don't think we had any.

Best song that reminds you of high school?
- This one's hard. Probably something by Matchbox Twenty, because I listened to their first CD non-stop in ninth grade.

So that's that. I'm exhausted and I can't figure out why. I've been feeling pretty down lately, and I can't figure out why. There's this whole cloud of not being able to figure out what's wrong the past few days. I don't like it. So, in an attempt to make myself feel better today, I bought myself a new CD from Record and Tape. Have any of you heard of Elbow? Kind of a Radiohead/Coldplay kind of thing. Kind of. It's an awesome CD, anyway.

Me? Sleepy. Going to bed.
