Same thing just recently happened. I have no clue who it was that defriended me, but one minute I was 18 friends, I went to another page, came back and saw it was now 17 friends. And I have no clue who it was! Thats fucked up...
Ah, its all good though. No need to be sorry, its how the life cycle of LJ works. Get friends, friend people you don't know, see people you don't unfriend you, etc
