So, I just got out of my Mark Twain class with Dr. Mary. For those of you who don't know, Dr. Mary is roughly five feet tall, and a very very liberal Catholic. She's this short little woman with a foul mouth who speaks about 70 miles a minute. She's great.
We were discussing Huck Finn today, and talking about modern day Hucks. We came up with Holden Caulfield and James Dean and even Bart Simpson. Then she said that even Buffy could be considered a Huck Finn character. Half the class scoffed, and she preceded to talk about why it was a great show and it used to be the only show she watched until they suddenly brought Harriet the Spy on the show and she spent the entire season trying to figure out who she was and then she was a big ball of green light and then Buffy died but she wasn't really dead and they brought her back and it moved to UPN and she just stopped watching.
All of that was said in pretty much one breath. I love Dr. Mary. She said that the only show she watches these days is South Park. Bwahaha.
