another 'I love Dr. Reed!' post. deal.

Some things I've learned about Dr. Reed lately:

-- he grew up in So. California and went to school at UCSD
-- he once worked as a circus clown for Barnum & Bailey
-- he drives a big rig to and from places like Buffalo on the weekends, just because he can
-- he drives around with two urns in his trunk which contain the remains of his parents. he often has visions of being rear-ended and seeing nothing but dust in his rear view
-- he has a scar from a shark bite, but he won't tell us where or why
-- he knows Ben of Ben&Jerry's and had the opportunity to drive their RV across the country to give out free ice cream before Ben & Jerry's was famous at all, but for whatever reason, didn't take it
-- he used to be in charge of nuclear weapons on a submarine when he was in the navy

And an excerpt from the email he sent last night to tell us he wouldn't be in class today:

If you all decide to go ahead and meet, I have a favor to ask. Will one of you
please volunteer to keep notes on the goings on? Someone else will have to wear a
tie and wander about the room aimlessly, making generally inane and superficial
comments at inappropriate times in order to insure the proper degree of confusion
and lack of meaningful continuity.

The choice is up to you all - I have my "druthers" but no control beyond the thin
string I occupy in the current space-time continuum.
