Arrrgh. I have to start moving my stuff, as it seems rains from Hurricane Charley are headed this way. I don't wanna. I've only been here for three months, and my stuff is still scattered everywhere. Mostly, I don't want to have to unpack it all back at the apartment.

Also, I forgot to call my bank today and now they're closed. Crud. CRUD!

But I have a cute new icon of which I know Christina is very very jealous. Yes.

And I have to remember to call my aunt tonight. And my grandmother.

This post brought to you by my desire to procrastinate hauling my stuff out of this room for as long as possible. *g*

ETA: It has been brought to my attention lately that most of my friends are first born or only children. I was thinking about it, and the majority of people I have close relationships with in real life are the oldest in their families, with another good portion being the very youngest in their families. I have exactly one friend who is a middle child, and funny enough, that's Megan. So I'm wondering, where do you all fall? Are you the oldest/only child? Middle child? Youngest? Somewhere in between? Inquiring minds want to know.

Only child. And I think it shows.

I was even an only grandchild (on both sides) until I was sixteen.

However, I did try the middle child thing for a few years, lived with two boys (one older and one younger), and they're still very much like brothers to me. And, technically, my dad has a son who's like 27, who I met once. So I have a half-brother, I guess.

But really? I'm an only child.

I'm an only child. I think you may have some sort of subconcious discrimination going on.

Moving

Well, I'm unusual (thanks to a dysfunctional family) and am both the oldest and youngest-- on one side of my family (mother's) I have a younger brother and on the other (father's) I have an older sister... so... I guess I'm a middle child by default?

I have an unrelated question for you (though we did talk about it before, that day I moved out for summer)-- do you think it would be okay for me to move some things in early next Wed (as in a week from this coming Wed- the 25th?). I was thinking of driving down with my father and taking the big van... Then that Fri night I would like to drive down (with James) and bring the last of my things down...(I would stay that night).

Do you think either you, Chris, or Rac could be around to let me in on Wed early afternoon and/or on Fri night? You wouldn't have to stay, of course (esp on Wed.), as I could prop the door...

That shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure if Racheal will be here that day, but I'll be here or at work, so you can call me in admissions if you get here and I'm not in the apartment. Actually, don't call, just come to the building and get my keys from me. But I should be in the apartment all day that day.

Friday, I think Rac will be here. I'll have to work Friday night until about 10:30 I think. Chris might also be here. You might want to talk to them. :)

Thank you!!! So on next (next) Wed, I should just stop by admissions and look for you? (Versus calling you on your cell phone that day when I arrive, for instance?) We'll arrive 12 or 1 ish I would guess...

Do you want me to leave you a reminder comment Tues night or anything like that, since it is over a week away? (I know I would probably forget such a long-term request).

I will contact Chris and Rach about Friday... I wonder if Rach is online enough to check her comments, b/c I really hate to call people (like, I really hate it, even when I know the person-- I prefer writing or face to face interaction. I refuse to even do call ahead seating stuff)... But if I must, I can call...

I would imagine James and I wouldn't arrive any earlier than 8 pm on Fri... and probably later than that, realistically... But Wed is a lot more important to me than Fri, so if Fri wouldn't work out it would be more okay than not. :-)

Thanks again!

I'm terrible at making phone calls myself. Rac should be back on campus completely by the end of this week, so I imagine she'll be checking her email regularly by then.

Also, I lied and I think I'll be done with admissions by then, so if you wanna call my cell you can, or you can just ring the doorbell on the apartment. I should be here. A request comment the night before wouldn't hurt. ;)
