you say it's your birthday

I just thought I would share. I had a lovely birthday. I love my friends dearly.
I spent most of the morning at the MVA waiting and working on my resume and reading Virginia Woolf. I was there about an hour and a half before they called my number. But I have a shiny new license! And I do mean shiny. And new. Maryland's licenses are different than they used to be, and much shinier. :) When I got back, Racheal had taped balloons and crepe paper to my door. It will probably say "happy Z1" on my door until I move out. ;)
My mailbox was stuffed with cards from a couple of my aunts, a really sweet friend of mine from my Twain class last semetster, and two from my grandparents (one of which bore a check for quite a lofty sum), as well as a bottle of massage oil from James & Laura. One of the cards was from Dean Sayre, reminding me to be safe on my 21st birthday, because he wants me to make it to 22. Cause you know, I party so much. :P Anyway, after that I had my four hours of class. We read our bad fiction stories in creative writing, which was entertaining. I had a quick TV meeting after class, which unfortunately was less productive than it could have been, but that was pretty much all my fault. I didn't do all the stuff I said I would do, and I was in a rush to get out of there so I could go to dinner. Ooh, but when I came back Laura had bought me pretty flowers and put them on my bed!
Rac, Christina, Mark, James, Laura, and Hugh came with me to the Olive Garden for dinner. We gave James & Laura their anniversary present (which we picked up at Condom Kingdom in Philadelphia on Saturday :P), and Christina gave me a pair of really pretty earrings that I unwittingly picked out at the cool store the other night. Rac gave me a t-shirt that has this giant pimptastic car on it with the caption "My other ride's your mom." So great! Dinner was yummy, and I ordered my first legal drink (which was the girliest thing EVER). Our waiter was so cute, he brought it out with a bunch of fruity things attached to it, and a candle lodged inside a lemon. It scared me, though, cause I didn't see him coming and all the sudden there was fire next to my hair. :P After Olive Garden waiters singing to me and bringing a yummy dessert, we all came back to the apartment, and Mark hung out downstairs with me and Rac for awhile.
My sisters left me a message on my cell phone. They sang happy birthday to me, and rambled about how they loved me and hoped I was out having fun, and it was the cutest thing ever. I nearly cried, cause I'm a big emotional baby.
So, between all that fun stuff and all the AIM messages and LJ comments and phone calls and messages from my family and friends (and three from Greg!), I think it's safe to say that this was a great birthday. I feel lucky. :)
