So, the Foo Fighters played an acoustic show at DAR Constitution Hall on Tuesday night, and I just happened to be there.

I say this every time, but those boys put on such a great show. Taylor and Dave have this adorable chemistry on stage. And! Pat Smear was there! I really liked the flow of this type of show, too, Dave got to tell us a lot of little stories about the songs, and made fun of the hometown accent, and how he left us all in the dust as soon as he got famous. I really love seeing him here, because he grew up here and used to record here and knows the area and makes all the right jokes about the place.
My life is one step closer to complete, though, because I have seen February Stars performed live. Hands down, that's my favorite Foo Fighters song, and I never ever thought that some random song from the end of an album they made almost ten years ago would be played on stage for me, but there it was. For the encore, he came out alone and told us a really long story (that we've all basically heard before) about writing Friend of a Friend in Washington when he was living with Kurt and Chris. He wailed out on Best of You, and then told the drummer joke ("what's the last thing the drummer said before getting kicked out of the band?") and dedicated Everlong to all the drummers in the audience. It was so much fun to just sit back and listen to the man's songs, and I'm not lying when I tell you that every time I have the opportunity to go see these guys play, I will gladly fork over my money.

WHAT THE F, JUDGES? Big Ol' Bag of Crazy Cakes Vincent has been in the bottom three for every challenge but one so far, he makes the most hideous dress I've seen since the last thing he made, his model can't even walk in it, and they send Alison home on one lapse of judgment on a challenge that sucks? I really don't get it. Is Vincent actually that interesting to watch? Because he mostly makes me want to watch from behind my fingers. Maybe they're hoping he'll just have a complete meltdown in the work room or something.
These episodes haven't been much fun, or at least not nearly as much fun as last year's. I blame Keith.
Anyway, I was never particularly bowled over by anything Alison made, not to mention that her voice was really starting to irritate me, but I definitely don't think she deserved to go home before Vincent. He needs to leave like three episodes ago. Also? What the hell is up with Laura? She was starting to grow on me a little, and this episode completely ruined any hope of that. She's got something nasty to say about everyone, doesn't she? Heh, I guess I was okay with her smack-talking until she started ragging on Kayne. Oh, Kayne, my love. Don't suck like that again, okay?
So, I thought that challenge basically sucked, and I really hope there aren't anymore stupid innovation projects. I always hate to see people go home on those. Like Andrae last season. I was surprised that I liked Jeffrey's dress the best, I liked the colors and the fit a lot, but since I hate Jeffrey more than I hate Vincent and Angela, I'm glad Michael pulled it out for the win, especially when Jeffrey was a total asshole to the camera just after losing. Humility much? (See, and here's the problem, I think. Last season, I liked everyone, with the exception of Lupe and Zulema, but I didn't really loathehateseethe anybody. This season, I only really like three people, personalities and talent combined. That makes it was less fun to watch.) At this point, I think my ideal final three is Michael, Robert, and Kayne, but I'm not really counting on that actually happening. If at least two of those guys make it, I guess I'll be pretty happy. I'm kind of assuming Michael will, but the other two slots keep changing in my head.

I keep meaning to write about a million other things -- I went to Bethesda and saw Laura and James last weekend, and we had Indian food and frappachinos and spice cake and it was lots of fun and needs to become more than an annual thing. (Laura, I swear I'm switching my files over! Music soon, I promise!) I want to do that character/'ship/episode meme, I want to post pictures, including one of my new (green!) computer. Also, I'm trying to make plans for my upcoming work-free weekend, which is fast being filled up with things that aren't sitting around in my pajamas doing nothing like I'd originally planned. Which, I guess is actually okay with me. Having plans and seeing people is nice, too.
Anyway, I have a ton of work I'm not doing. So I should do that. And also link to possibly one of the greatest JIMspams I've ever seen. Mostly for my benefit, but also for Ashley, who will hopefully see this before she runs off to Newport again. :)

I like Robert's personality, but he's been making crap lately. I hope he stops. Now.
I'm glad everyone else is realizing the hate for Laura. Not only is she MEAN, but everything she makes is exactly the same!
......Jeffrey is kind of growing on me and it makes me feel dirty.

I love watching Robert, and I think he has it in him to make it to the end, so yeah, I'm really hoping he steps it up a little. I don't think I could take him leaving at this point. :p
As for Laura, I don't know if it was the editing or what, but she never seemed to badmouth people as much as she did in this ep. Plus, she just kept opening her mouth when it was none of her business, or just to be catty. Like telling Kayne that she worried about his choices. What the hell was that? Yay Kayne for telling her to shut up in a classy way. ;)
Heh, I don't think I'll get over my Jeffrey hate unless he pulls a Santino and starts being hilarious.

I loved that we got to just chill out and watch him play. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE the rock shows, but this was different, and cool. I'm glad we got to do it just in case they never do it again. Can't wait for the DVD!
Yeah, I'm sad about Alison going home too. I had predicted she would be the 5th to leave. Hmmmm, now I'm worried about my Top 3.

Oh! I forgot about the DVD, too. I'm excited about that.
The Alison thing was just ridiculous. She's a way better designer and deserves the spot much more than Vincent does. If they kick off Kayne and/or Robert before Vincent goes, I'm going to be a little disgruntled with one Heidi Klum. :p

I loved it when Robert was all like "I recyle all the time...I recyle plastic, paper, ex-boyfriends...."
I'm really in the mood to watch Foo Fighters' music videos, well ones like Big Me, Everlong, Learn to Fly....everyone loves a goofy Dave :)

Ahh! Kayne and Robert should never leave me! Their catty little bitch session about Laura! Hee. I really want them both to stick around. Like, really a whole lot.

But! February Stars! I took little sound clips with my phone, but obviously they sound nothing like it did in person. Which is sad for me.

(I like your heavens. I may need to borrow a few. *g*)
He didn't do the whispery part on Everlong, but that whole section is where the rest of the band came back out and finished out the song with him, so it was still pretty awesome. We were kind of far away, though, so I don't know if he was chewing gum. Probably. :p

Have you heard anything about that CW mall signing in MD? I actually have that following week off, so if any VMers decide to show, up I might actually be able to drive down for it without having travel time issues.

I've been checking the sites every couple of days, but I haven't been able to come up with anything yet. I don't even know where they'd announce it. I definitely wanna go if some of the VM boys show up, though.
