Was it just me, or was this episode kind of boring? Which, I don't know, feels like a harsh thing to say, but it just didn't do much for me. Maybe, it just didn't feel like the kind of episode you use to cap off sweeps. There were good things--Clemmons using Veronica for a promotion and sticking it to her at the same time, any and all Beaver and Mac interatcion--but the only thing that really stands out in my mind is Logan and Weevil's confrontation in the bathroom, and that doesn't seem like a good thing when there was that whole big reveal at the end of the episode. [And as a side note, can I say that I in no way believe an unborn baby would survive that crash, and also, there's no way she could have not been showing at all in September and be that far along in December. Unless she's having demon spawn baby, and I suppose with Cordelia lurking around, anything's possible.] In any case, I thought last week's episode was far superior—which could be due to the amount of Logan and V/L scenes we got. Could it be that my love for an episode decreases in direct proportion to the number of scenes Logan's in? It's like science!

First of all, Trina annoyed the crap out of me, and it wasn't so much because she was an annoying character as her characterization seemed completely off from the last time she was on the show. I didn't feel like I was watching the same person, and I'm not sure if it was Aly's or the writers' fault. Maybe it was the fact that she barely interacted with her brother—I'd have liked more of that than we ended up getting. And on that note, I'm not terribly satisfied with the adoption storyline, mostly because I don't like the idea that she's not an Echolls by blood, specifically because she's not really Logan's sister. Also, I'm not sure I see a point in that storyline at all, I'm wondering what it's going to have to do with anything down the line.

What annoys me the most, though, is that the alternate ending on aol.com was far more shocking and interesting to me than the ending we got. This is almost certainly due to the fact that I read entirely too much speculation. :p Meg's pregnancy is the third time some big reveal hasn't been shocking to me at all—because I'd already read someone speculating that that's how it would go down. I think it's weird that they filmed the two endings, it seems like nothing more than a ratings ploy, too. Or, like, Rob Thomas was bouncing around the writers' room all "Wouldn't it be sooooooo cool if we could have Veronica up on attempted murder charges!?" And then he was all sad because it wouldn't work with the storyline he has planned out, so he filmed himself an AU story instead. :p

And, so, okay, the episode wasn't a total loss, because Logan has the world's greatest sense of humor, as evidenced by his little gang of lackeys (and where did they all come from exactly?) taping Weevil to the flagpole. Also? I knew the Logan/Weevil working together thing wasn't far off, but I didn't expect it to go down that way. Or at least, not so soon. But really? I haven't been this excited about character interaction since the first time Logan showed up at Veronica's door. Can you imagine the beautiful snark? Now if only we can get the Logan/Weevil mystery-solving duo in the same room with Cliff and Lamb, I think I will die a very happy girl.

I'm also a bit confused by Duncan now. I'm starting to think that the massive anvils that have been dropped on our heads are all misdirection, because I don't really think Meg's baby is his, and I'm not sure what else his deep dark secret could be. Maybe it's that Chris guy's from the letter (if he's a guy at all), or maybe Meg's dad, which is gross, but I definitely got sexual predator vibes from him, especially with Grace's comments about "not being ready." Ugh. Also? Duncan is such a jerkwad for keeping his relationship with Veronica a secret, though it's not much of a surprise, is it? Even standing up to his mother at that point, while sort of out of character and refreshing, was just too little too late. If it were me, I'd probably dump him just for that. Though, I'm starting to fear we'll never get to see the glorious break up scene we've been waiting for the last nine episodes.

And on one final note, Wallace has been absent for four straight episodes. This has to mean he'll show up finally next week, right? And that he won't miss another episode, right? Please? Does anyone know?

From what I've read, Wallace is going to be featured more as of January. No idea if he'll be in the next episode at all though. And based on one of the January episode titles, I think that one of those episodes will be mainly about him.

Well, hmmm. I really didn't think they'd cut his contract down more than to 18 episodes, but maybe it's 16. I miss my Wallace, I want him back NOW!

I think I like the idea of Meg being devious enough to fake a coma more interesting than her being dead. But then again, I like Meg, so there's that.

As for Duncan's involvement, I've been trying to figure out how far along Meg is by the size of that belly, and my estimation is that she's probably well over seven months. Which means that the only way it's not Duncan's is if she cheated on him (which would be tantamount to character assassination in my opinion) or her father did the deed. As edgy as VM gets, I'm not sure they're willing to go there, having Meg carry and give birth to her father's child.

It's funny because I didn't think Duncan stood up to Celeste at all. Yes, he appeased Veronica, but he still sent her away so that he could deal with his mother. I guess I'm just not feeling very charitable towards Duncan today. Which is a shame because I loved that I finally felt like he was semi-interesting last week. So much for that!

Hmmm. Now that you mention it, I really really like the idea of faking a coma. Is that possible? How very soap opera-y and AWESOME.

See, that's what it looked like to me, that she was around 6/7 months along. But that's just not possible when two months ago she was as skinny as ever. I'm confused about this baby storyline thing. Good thing we get at least one more episode before hiatus.

As for Duncan, I can see your point, it was less that he stood up to Celeste and more that he stood slightly less idly by. It's funny that he was interesting last week in an episode where he had only two lines. The writers should look into doing that more often. :p

First of all: Hee! to your last line.

As for Meg, I'm thinking that she may be faking the coma to protect her child from her crazy-ass father. It works for me.

And I think that she looked further along (7/8 months). Some women, especially with their first pregnancy, don't start showing until well into their fifth month. I mean, showing as in "you look pregnant", as opposed to just looking like they're gaining weight.

There's an episode next week and then we have to wait until January 18th! 18th!!! Good thing it'll be so close to sweeps, because I have a feeling February sweeps will be good to the non-VD-ers out there (and in here).

Wow, I did enjoy that alternate ending. And as a whole I enjoyed the episode...probably just because I like seeing both my girlfriends in the same scene. I thought for a while that Alyson and Charisma were doing a contest to see who could ham it up the most, but they sorta dropped that after their first scenes (I think Alyson won by a lot though):-P

I didn't like this episode, but probably for a totally different reason than most people. And to avoid being verbally abused, I'll keep that reason to myself.

Still...Duncan has got to go. I've grown tiresome of him.
love love LOVED Logan's wardrobe in this episode though, I think that is what kept me watching...err from falling asleep.

Meg's pregnancy is too unrealistic. There is no way in a million years a baby would survive that crash....

ohhh, I see. :p So it's okay for your to verbally abuse a sad little emo boy who just wants your love, but you don't want to be verbally abused back. I see how it is!! :p

Heh. But other than that, I pretty much agree with you. As you well know. :)

:p

You smell. Aly was totally hamming it up and that was kind of obnoxious. The Buffy reunion was kind of pointless, though. The baby stuff was funny, though. I wish they'd spent more time on that.

You're just a mean person. :p

(Also, he gets, like, 12 episodes this season, so he's not going anywhere!!!)

And [livejournal.com profile] _jems_ says January 18. Which sucks big fat hairy ones, but, as she pointed out, means it'll be close to February sweeps, so that's something.

Would you expect anything less :)

Jan 18th!!!! Grrrrr. That sucks. Two months of reruns? Sad part is no VM, but I guess the good part is I won't have to rush home on Wednesday...I think
