evergleam: (fs - silence is lonely)
I have a free hour before my next class, so here I am.

My classes so far seem doable. I'm bogged down, but part of that is due to my hectic work schedule this week. Once everything smooths out, I shouldn't have too much trouble getting everything done.

I just met with my senior seminar advisor about my paper. I think it's safe to say I'll be writing on Vonnegut, as the only other writer I love enough to spend a semester writing about is British and this is an American sem. I just don't know what exactly I'll be doing. I'm thinking women in Vonnegut, or rather, the absence of women. But maybe not. Maybe I'll write about his weird post-moderny inserting himself into all his novels thing. Anyone like Vonnegut and want to share ideas? :)

I've only had one Literary Journalism class with Michael Dirda, but that's where I'm headed at 3. I don't really know yet what that class is going to be like, but the first class wasn't terribly daunting or anything, so I'm not really worried. I say that now, of course, since it isn't April and I don't have five thousand things to be working on for all my writing classes. :P My rhetoric class with Kate seems like it will be fun and interesting, as soon as we get past this whole Aristotle thing. Cause Aristotle? Not that fun and interesting.

I'm going home this weekend for pre-birthday celebrations with the fam. Looking foward to lots of attention and free meals. And also getting my laundry done. ;) Also, my stepfather finally joined the modern ages and bought a computer and cable internet, so I'll even be able to get some work done, too!

No real birthday plans as yet. I kind of want to go out to dinner, but I don't know, cause I kind of don't care. It's too much work to coordinate stuff, and I'm too busy to stop and think about it. Or figure out anyone else's schedules. Megan's supposed to be coming back from Arizona this weekend, though, so hopefully she'll be able to come hang out, and bring my Stewbert, too. I'm thinking the Inner Harbour this year, maybe. I want some seafood, and there's yummy seafood at the Inner Harbour. Also, question. Does Balitmore have an Outer Harbour?

And ummmmmm. I'm kind of obsessed with Damien Rice lately. Currently on repeat in my room is Volcano, which, if I were to ever direct a movie with a sex scene between two characters who didn't really like each other, is the song that would be playing in my movie. So um. If anyone wants to send me more (although I do already have a lot), or let me burn their CDs (*coughLauracough*), I wouldn't be opposed.

I'm going to go plan out my evening schedule now. I have to read and work and pack and...sleep..at some point. So away I go.
