randomly cryptic lyrical subject line
Jul. 16th, 2004 01:36 amI wish I had something insightful to say.
Brock and I gave a tour today to a kid and his sexist asshole of a father who refused to ask me questions and repeatedly asked Brock questions that I had already answered. And then, as if I didn't already hate him, he very audibly voiced his problems with the school before the tour was even over.
So that wasn't so great. I think I handled myself pretty well, considering I desperately wanted to shout at this guy or possibly take a fallen branch to his head. But mostly I just ignored him completely and only talked to the actual prospective student, who was listening to me politely.
And the rest of the day is kind of a blur, as far as work goes. We did get free ice cream from an ice cream truck today. Apparently Enterprise Car Rental really appreciates our business and sent over an ice cream truck for the whole office to get free soft serve cones. I got vanilla with rainbow sprinkles. :)
After work I went to visit Stew and watch more Angel. We're almost done with S1 and then we get to start my favorite season, with the brooding and the beige and the killing of evil lawyers. It shall be fun.
Oh, and? I was behind the best car EVAR today when I was stuck in traffic on the way to College Park. It was a red Honda Passport with a bumper sticker on the window that had the French flag with a little circle and line through it and said "Boycott France." Under that was a Jesus fish, and under that was an American flag. Attached to the license plate was a flap that was hanging down with a picture of Jesus on it, wearing the thorny crown and looking up to the sky. Under him it said "Still Saving Lives."
I really wish I'd had a camera. It was a thing of beauty. :P
It's finally starting to cool off a bit in my room, the AC had previously frozen so I had to shut it off all day. It seems to be working now, so I think I will head in the direction of my bed. I hope you all have a lovely weekend while I'm at the BEACH. ;)
ETA: This song? Has always just completely broken my heart.
