A few quick things. First, I must throw love in the direction of my friendslist.
1.
egosomnio,
rodeojones88, and
myhomeygfunk, thanks for the input on the digital camera front. I'm still searching for a camera that suits me, but the info you shared was very helpful. I'll let you know what I end up going with, if you're interested. ;)

saava!! I finally was able to go home and I got your package. I just started watching the first episode, but I think I'll have to turn it off and try again tomorrow when I'm less tired and can pay better attention. (But first very shallow impression? Ben Browder is quite the attractive young man. Mmmhmm.) Also, I was totally not expecting the CDs, as well. I definitely squealed when I opened up the box. ;) Thanks again, darlin! :))
3.
loudreality, you're awesome, and I hope you aren't too busy off having a life, at least not for too awful long. ;)

I went home for the weekend, which was actually really great. Partly because I'm in a much better mood if I just keep doing things, rather than sitting in this drab room watching movies all weekend by myself, but mostly because I just had a good weekend.
I went home late Friday night and ended up staying up until about 3 just kinda talking with my mother. We get along so much better when I don't actually live there. I spent most of Saturday morning and afternoon hanging out with her and my sister, watching movies and stuff. And I almost ran over a girl I knew in high school in the Chick Fil-A parking lot with my sister. So that was fun. :P
Megan was still home this weekend, cause she's not going up to New York until tomorrow, so last night we went clubbin'. Two of Megan's brothers work at Apex in Dupont Circle, one of them has worked there for months and months and he's always trying to get us to go, and of course we never do. So last night we finally went, and it was actually a lot of fun. I'm not really a club kind of girl (as you may have guessed), but the atmosphere there last night was infectious. I was under the impression that it was a gay club only, but it turned out that it was both a gay and lesbian club, and Saturday nights are ladies nights, so I'm almost positive that everyone thought Megan and I were a couple. Heh, but that's alright with me cause Megan was hot in her leather skirt and combat boots. ;))
Anyway, we ended up getting in for free since her brother works there, which was nice cause the cover charge was rather high last night. It was Pride weekend in DC, so the club could charge whatever they wanted and everyone would pay. But it was good anyway, cause it meant the place was packed, and everyone was in a super good mood. Lots of people wishing everyone else 'Happy Pride,' in a semi-drunken stupor. It was almost enough to make me wish I was gay. :P Almost. We met up with one of Megan's friends from school who lives in Baltimore, and apparently is a regular, and we made up a circle of three of the only straight girls in the place.
It was a good time, anyway. Megan and I left kinda late and ended up missing the last train back to Branch Ave., so we had to take a $20 cab ride to get back to my car. We went through four different cabs before we found one willing to take us for a semi-decent price at almost-four in the morning. He was a nice enough guy, though, and drove us right to my car and waited until we were in with the doors locked before driving off. He probably just though we were a couple of dumb drunk party girls who can't budget their time. :P
Ah well, it was an adventure.
Today was mostly spent recovering and watching more movies with the fam and dinner with my grandparents. I got my bike from home and I plan on many a bike trip this week.
Oh! I also got my writing portfolio in the mail and my teacher said lots of nice things and gave me some good insight and offered to be a sounding board for anything I write in the future. Which is great! I'm probably going to wait a little while longer before I dive back in to revising either of my finished pieces, but I do want to get back into the groove of writing again, soon. As much as I hated them, I think I need deadlines to force myself to get anything on paper.
And it's now very late and I'm very cold and very tired and I have to go to work early. So I'm going to go away now. And be...away.
