Ugh.

My mouth has been sore for three days now. I can't figure out what's wrong with it, and I want it to go away so I can start eating food in no pain again.

Also, I sat down tonight to read and couldn't concentrate, so I flipped on some Farscape and promptly fell asleep. At some point I must have woken up long enough to turn off the television, but I slept for about three hours. At 9pm, I sat up with a start and saw the clock and nearly freaked out because I thought I was late for work, but then I looked out the window. And yeah, still dark. But that stupid three hour nap means I'll be up half the night. I almost missed Brock's phone call, too. But I didn't! And I got to go see Anchorman, and it was HIGHlariouis. And I want to see it again. And again. And at some point I think this should have become a new paragraph.

We went to Denny's after the movie and were in and out in under an hour, a new record I think. :P

Seriously, you should go see that movie, though. It was one of those movies where something totally random got me started laughing, and ten minutes later I would still be laughing about it. Kind of like Legolas in RotK -- "A diversion!" That still cracks me up.

Arrrgh. I'm going to visit Stew tomorrow after work to pick up where left off on the Angel-a-thon. Then it's off to Atlantic City for the weekend, which will be looooads of fun. Cause I LOOOOOVE the beach, and if you didn't know that by now you're stoopid. ;) AND I get paid on Friday, so I'll even have money for this weekend. There is no bad here.

I think I'm going to go to sleep now. Possibly post the results for [livejournal.com profile] fireflicons because I'm like three days late with them. But probably go to sleep. Or toss in bed for a few hours until I fall asleep again. Either way. :P

How did you get the smooth air brushed type effect on Mal in the 'Spaceboy I missed you' icon?
or was it just nice lighting in the cap?

Mostly what I did, after brightening the cap, was to zoom in really close and use the blur tool set at about 20-30% opacity to blur Mal's face. After that, I zoomed back out and duplicated the layer and sharpened it, reducing the opacity until the jagged edges were gone.

Another technique I sometimes use is to apply the median filter, which can be found under Filter->Noise->Median, and reduce the opacity of the layer to about 40%. Then I add a layer mask, and use the brush tool in the color black to erase the parts over the eyes and nose and streaks in the hair and such to give it a little more clarity.

Hope that makes sense! Let me know if you have anymore questions, or check out my memories, cause there are a ton of great tutorials there. :)
