have we discussed how much god hates me?

So, my car wouldn't start this morning. Luckily, I have a fabulous roommate who works across the street from me who could drive me into work today, but I'm kind of screwed as for the rest of my weekend plans. I was supposed to pick up Stew to get my computer in working order tomorrow morning, and then head to Towson for [livejournal.com profile] manduhchow's senior recital, and now I have to try and jump start my car tomorrow morning and drive down to see my dad. Where, hoping against hope here, I can buy myself a new car.

Now, if you're wondering whether or not I can afford to buy a new car, the answer is no. Definitely not. But I cannot survive without a vehicle.

This sucks big fat hairy monkey balls.

In other news, if I were still in college, I would have seen Goblet of Fire already. ALAS. Instead, we're going to see it next weekend when Racheal gets back from California. We have big plans for next weekend, oh yes. Lots of Marsathoning and movie-watching and hitting the town-ing, etc. etc. I'm very excited.

Though, I have to go meet my new sibling on Thanksgiving. I'm a little wary about that. But hey! Maybe I won't be able to do anything if I can't get a car tomorrow! :p

P.S. Because, did I mention how I, not two months ago, sunk $350 into my car for brakes and a new muffler? And how, not six months ago, I put almost $400 into it for a new battery and starter? ARRRRRRGH.

Hugs! Lots of them! And love and luck and all those other things that you'll need. I'm wishing them your way.

Thanks, you. This is really poopy. Being a grown up sucks!!!

[identity profile] madmoisellestar.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, it really, really is poopy. And being a grown up does suck, but try to put it in perspective, at least you're not still living at home, or in high school, or too young to drive at all. Those things would be worse, right? *grins hopefully*
And you have good friends and we love you and we'll make it better somehowsortof.

[identity profile] evergleam83.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you're right. It could be worse. I think mostly I'm bummed about my immediate problems of not being able to do what I wanted to do tomorrow, and having to figure out how I'm getting to and from work tonight and Sunday. Hopefully I'll be able to afford a decently priced car, and then I'll be able to stop sinking so much money into an old piece of crap.

ARRGGH! An old piece of crap I just put $35 worth of gas in yesterday! GRRRRR. Okay, wish I hadn't just remembered that. :p

Anyway, I love you. :)

I know what it's like to depend on having a vehicle. I hope everything works out.

Doesn't it suck? You'd think there's be better forms of public transportation in a state capital, but not so much. Thanks, though. :)

*HUG* I don't know what else to say. I have no wisdom or help to offer, so I guess just the whole being supportive thing is the best I can do:-P. If you want I can try to get my sister's car tomorrow morning and maybe I can drive, pick you up and bring you here for the thing? Let me know later today if that sounds good.

[identity profile] evergleam83.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the problem is I have no idea how long it's going to take with my dad tomorrow. But I appreciate the offer. I'll have to figure out what's gonna happen and get back to you. :)

I know what'll make it better!
PandaCam! Or even just this adorable picture!

OMG Heather can I have a baby panda? Please?

[identity profile] evergleam83.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Cute baby pandas.

Although, hey. I'm buying a new car tomorrow. My dad ran my credit and all is well in Heather-land, so new(ish) car for me!

[identity profile] madmoisellestar.livejournal.com 2005-11-18 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. That actually tops a baby panda. Congratulations!

Yes! I'm figuring, anything smaller with better gas mileage in automatic will do me. We're thinking Focus or Neon--which I'm not overly thrilled about, but it'll do for now. I'm crossing my fingers for a CD player, too. ;)

The only thing is, I'm really going to miss all that trunk space when we're moving your stuff. ;)
