The one thing I think the movie got really, really right, was Magneto's reaction to Professor X's death. I only wish they could have dealt with that even a little bit more. Really, their relationship is one of my favorite things about the movie series, so of course I always want to see more there. :p

I agree about the OOC-ness of some of the characters. I felt bad for Cyclops, he got kind of a raw deal in this movie. Actually, most of them did, because the movie sort of forgot that it was about the characters and spent so much time on the plot, I think.
