I like the atmosphere of the RenFest a whole lot, but the thing where you have to pay to get in and then pay to do most of the cool stuff inside bugs me. Mostly, I go for the food. And the MD RenFest is in a really pretty wooded area back in the middle of nowhere. So the scenery is at least nice. I can't imagine a RenFest in the desert, how does that work?

I would love to see a really truly actually scary movie. There's a Hitchcock festival at the arts center this month, but I've missed most of the movies, which makes me mad. Those were less scary than suspenseful, but he knew how to do suspense in ways that weren't just ...oooooh, scary music.

I saw the miniseries of The Shining, and I thought it followed the book a little better and made more sense, but it wasn't as scary to me. I think mostly cause it had the guy from Wings, and he doesn't scare me in any way other than through his not so hot acting skills.

I don't hate Jack Nicholson, but sometimes I wonder if he is in fact evil. I haven't actually seen very many of his movies, though, either.
